Hinchingbrooke School

Week A Commencing 1st October 2018

Message of the Week

Welcome to week 5.  Many people love this time of year, but some find the autumn and winter depressing, with darker days and longer nights.  October 10th is World Mental Health Day and this year’s focus is on young people from the ages of 8 to 24.

To find out more, visit the website: https://mhfaengland.org/mhfa-centre/campaigns/world-mental-health-day-2018/

Resources include tips for anyone working, or living, with young people, as well as guidance for young people to help them to take care of their own mental health.

In keeping with the focus on young people’s mental health, our Theme for the Week is a reminder to be tolerant and not to judge others simply because they are different.   Everyone we meet is fighting a battle we know nothing about so it’s important to be kind always.

Golden Antler Winners

Every week, the tutor groups with the highest number of 5s (for great attitudes to learning) are awarded a Golden Antler trophy.  Following the award of the trophy, the tutor arranges for a celebratory photograph to be taken.  It is then displayed around school.

Last week, the Lower School Golden Antlers winner was …

7W1.  Well done to the students in this form group who earned the highest number of 5s.

And winner of the Middle School Golden Antlers was …

…9M1.   A new win for Montague.

Well done to both tutor groups.  We look forward to photographs next week!
