The Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, recently gave a speech regarding careers advice in schools. The main recommendation was that Local Authorities should provide a one stop shop UCAS –style system for young people who don’t want to go to university.   

In Cambridgeshire our young people’s website Youthoria,  www.youthoria.org   combined with our Area Wide Prospectus, www.ucasprogress.com, fulfil much of this function. The Youth Service has, for many years been promoting and developing the Youthoria site and it is now a signpost for all aspects of post 16 information including life style issues.
