Hinchingbrooke School Productions 2012-2012
We are pleased to offer students two opportunities in the coming year to take part in a school musical
theatre production, whether as a performer or in a production support role. The chance to take part in
productions like these can be experiences the students will remember for the rest of their lives but they
require a commitment of time which is considerable and so we ask you please to read the attached details and discuss them with your son/daughter so that, from the outset, so you are all fully aware of what is
involved before deciding whether to take part.
Guys and Dolls will be presented on the nights of Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday ,February 5-7th.
Bugsy Malone is to be performed for two nights, on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 18-19th.

Guys and Dolls is a whole school production, of a similar scale to last year’s Les Misérables and will
probably draw more on our senior students for the key roles. Students in Year 7 and 8 should not be
deterred from auditioning but we ask you to accept that there may be limited parts for this age group.
Bugsy Malone will offer key roles to students in Years 10-7 and auditions for this production will be held
straight after Christmas. For a few weeks in the Spring term rehearsals may run in parallel. We expect
very few students indeed would find time and energy to be in both productions. Further details about
Bugsy Malone will follow next term from Mrs Akielan and Mrs Nichols who are leading that production.
Auditions for Guys and Dolls will be held from 3.45-6pm on Monday 10th and Thursday 13th
September. We expect all participants to attend both sessions. The cast list will be published on Monday
September 17th. There are roles for actors, singers and dancers.
Rehearsals will take place on Mondays and Thursdays after school in the PAC from 3.45 until 5pm up to
half term. Later in the rehearsal period we will probably extend this time to 5.30pm and in the final stages
to 6pm. We will alert you well in advance about when these longer rehearsals take place. In the final
fortnight we propose the following timetable and would be grateful if the dates could be noted now:
Monday 28th Jan Run Act 1
Tuesday 29th Jan Run Act 2
Wednesday 30th Jan Cast not required
Thursday 31st Jan Run through
